What is CertSmart?

Designed for small, single-site businesses, CertSmart uses a self-serve online platform that removes complexity from the certification process. There's no compromise on the quality of your audit, enabling you to achieve UKAS accredited ISO 9001 certification in a more time and cost-effective way.

CertSmart is powered by LRQA; a UKAS accredited certification body with over 60,000 clients worldwide. As a result, leading technical experts will audit your business, and your certification will add value to your organisation, building trust with customers, suppliers and partners.

How does CertSmart work?

The CertSmart process features five steps that are designed to provide you with an efficient and seamless experience.

You’ll receive access to a personalised dashboard where you can upload documents, data and information relating to your QMS before your Stage 1 audit, which will be performed remotely. Due to UKAS requirements, your Stage 2 audit will be completed onsite, and once approval is given, you’ll receive your ISO 9001 certification.

Who can use CertSmart?

As assurance experts, we’ve designed CertSmart to deliver certification in a way that is tailored especially for small, single-site businesses that employ less than 25 people and don’t conduct complex operations such as product design.

Before you can get started, you’ll need to have designed and implemented your quality management system (QMS) in line with the requirements of ISO 9001. You can do this yourself or work with a reputable consultant that understands the standard.

We recommend that you check your readiness by completing the CertSmart Checklist – this will help ensure that you’re ready to be audited against ISO 9001.
